June 2015 Is Bike To Work Week and Month in Coeur d'Alene

June 2015 Is Bike To Work Week and Month in Coeur d'Alene

Across the nation everyone celebrates Bike to Work Month in May...not here in Coeur d'Alene. We aren't like everyone else, so Bike to Work Week and Month will be held in June. The weather is better, plus why not stand out from the crowd!

Bike to Work Week 2015 Events

Fun starts Monday, June 1st and ends Saturday, June 6th

2015 INFO & EVENTS:

Monday the 1st: Kick-Off Ride. We will meet at 7:30am in the Riverstone Park Parking Lot and ride down the Centennial Trail to Java on Sherman, where we will gather for coffee and doughnuts to talk about the upcoming bike events.

Tuesday the 2nd: Moonlight Ride. We will meet at Vertical Earth on Sherman Avenue at 8pm and embark on a moonlit ride on a route yet to be determined. We will gather at one of Coeur d'Alene's many new breweries afterwards for refreshments. Bring a bike light and wear reflective clothing.

Friday the 5th: Beer Tasting and a Movie. We will meet at Pilgrims market for beer tasting, free bike tune ups and a movie about cycling: "With My Own Two Wheels". Beer tasting starts at 6:00pm and the movie starts at 6:30pm.

Saturday the 6th: Roots Pursuit & Awards Ceremony. This bicycle scavenger hunt-type event begins at the Community Garden on the corner of 10th and Foster Ave at 10am. After-party and awards are from Noon to 2pm. PRIZES AND GIVE-A-WAYS TO PARTIPANTS!!!

Get out the spandex, (or not), tune up that bicycle and get out there for an exciting fun filled bicycle themed month.

Things to Consider:

1. Don't forget your bicycle (mountain bike, cruiser, road bike, recumbent, etc).
2. Update yourself on the Idaho Bicycle Laws so you know the rules of the road.
3. Extend your stay: besides the several Bike to Work Week/Month events that are taking place there is also Car d'Lane and IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene that offer opportunities for bicyclists to ride!
4. While downtown check out the newest taproom Unchained. It is a bicycle themed taproom that offers over 20 taps featuring micro brews and ciders and a selection of regional wines.

American Country Bed and Breakfast is happy to help you with suggestions on things to do in and around Coeur d'Alene! Come "clip in" with us...you won't regret it!
